California authorities issued mandatory evacuation orders for a fast-growing wildfire in northern California's Butte County on Thursday, November 8. Evacuation orders are issued for the towns of Paradise, Pulga, and Concow and California Highway 70 (CA-70) is closed from Pentz Road to CA-89. As of 10:45 (local time), the fire was 2000 hectares (5000 acres) and rapidly growing. The fire was first reported at 06:30 in the Feather River Canyon near CA-70.

California fire season typically runs from May through November. Central California is currently under a "red flag warning," indicating conducive weather conditions for wildfires, such as low humidity and strong winds.

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to exercise caution when traveling in areas near the wildfire, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities (e.g. road closures, evacuation notices), and monitor the situation. Children and those with respiratory illnesses are advised to limit outdoor activity.
