Two suicide bombers detonated explosives in Gao's 8th quarter on Monday, November 12. Initial reports indicate attackers detonated a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) targeting two villas belong to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA in the city around 19:30 (local time). Details regarding damage and casualties have not been reported.


Due to the presence of various armed groups, Mali's northern and central regions remain unstable despite the presence of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), one of the largest UN peacekeeping missions in the world.
