Engineering works are scheduled on passenger rail lines to London stations from Saturday, December 22 until Wednesday, January 2, causing delays, diversions, and cancelations to several routes.
Trains out of London's Paddington station will be severely affected, with no services running from Friday, December 23 until Monday, December 26. Southern rail routes from London Victoria will be disrupted from Thursday, December 22 to Wednesday, January 2. Gatwick Express services to and from Victoria will be completely halted, with passengers set to be diverted to services from London Bridge and Blackfriars station. London Euston will face a reduction in its services, with timetable changes on the Watford line and Virgin trains to Scotland and the Midlands. Passengers traveling via Liverpool Lime Street will also face disruptions, and replacement buses will run to Crewe and Runcorn to help manage the closure of Warrington station.
There will be no rail services running at all across the UK on Christmas Day. Passengers are urged to anticipate delays during the period and plan their journeys as early as possible.
Individuals traveling on the affected lines are advised to monitor developments to the situation, confirm rail transportation reservations, and prepare for lingering delays.
