Drivers of the ridesharing services Uber and Ola have threatened to resume their strike in Mumbai on Saturday, November 17, should their demands still not be met. They had initially planned to do so November 15. The drivers are also planning to stage a protest on November 19, in Mumbai; a march is expected to begin at Bharat Mata and end at Vidhan Bhavan.
The strike, launched October 22, was temporarily suspended on November 2 for the Hindu festival of Diwali.
Drivers are demanding increased incomes after a hike in fuel prices, as well as safety measures.
Individuals in Mumbai should avoid any related demonstrations and use alternate means of transportation once the strike resumes.
