This is the 28th day of strikes held by teachers in Buenos Aires province since the beginning of the year. The strikes have been called to demand higher salaries amid major inflation, better working conditions, and increased investment in school infrastructure, among other issues.
Sociopolitical tensions are high in Argentina and protests are regularly organized to denounce policies and reforms implemented by the conservative government of President Mauricio Macri.
Individuals in Argentina are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution.
