Protest and counter-protest set to take place in Bonn on November 18 over the UN Migration Pact; associated disruptions expected

A protest organized by the far-right Identitarian Movement is set to take place in Bonn on Sunday, November 18, to denounce the UN Migration Pact. Participants will gather at the United Nations Square at 14:00 (local time). A counter-demonstration will reportedly take place in the vicinity. A heightened security presence is to be anticipated.

Associated transportation disruptions, along with potential clashes between rival protesters and with police, are expected.


The UN Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration, approved in July, is an intergovernmental agreement striving to improve international collaboration and governance on migration.


Individuals in Bonn are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution.
