A suicide car bombing and shooting attack was reported in Galkayo (Mudug region; central Somalia) on Monday, November 26. The attack, carried out by Al-Shabaab militants, targeted a religious center. At least 15 people, included a cleric accused of insulting the Prophet Mohamed, were killed.


Al-Shabaab regularly conducts bombings and assassinations in southern and central Somalia, including the capital Mogadishu. The group frequently targets government and international delegate convoys, infrastructure, and personnel.
