A severe storm has led to significant transportation disruptions in Iceland on Thursday, November 29. All domestic flights were canceled through midday (local time) on Thursday, and all flights via Ísafjörður were canceled for the day. Several roads were also obstructed by the storm; Route 1 was closed between Gígjukvísl and Jökulsárlón. Lingering transportation disruptions - including delays and cancelations of international flights - are possible in Iceland over the coming hours as meteorological authorities have issued a storm warning through midnight, with high winds and poor traveling conditions forecast.
