The second leg of the Copa Libertadores soccer final, initially set to be held in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on November 24, will now be played at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Sunday, December 9, at 20:30 (local time). The match - between the two Buenos Aires teams Boca Juniors and River Plate - was postponed after River fans attacked the bus carrying Boca players.
Context
There is a long-standing intense rivalry between supporters of Boca and River, the country’s two major soccer teams. This is the first time the two teams are facing off against each other in the finals of the Copa Libertadores, an annual tournament involving 47 teams from ten leagues across South America.
