Unions representing staff at Marien Ngouabi University in Brazzaville ended a three-month strike on Thursday, November 29. According to local sources, the decision to end the strike was announced following the resumption of negotiations between union representatives and the university. Further strikes and associated demonstrations are possible at the university should negotiations break down.


On September 6, university staff launched a strike to demand the payment of wage arrears.


Individuals in Brazzaville are advised to monitor the situation and avoid all protests as a precaution.
