The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stated that the African Cup of Nations (CAN), which was scheduled to take place in Cameroon between June 15 and July 13, will be held elsewhere due to concerns regarding security, infrastructure, and accommodation. CAN is a football tournament played by African teams that takes place every two years. The first CAN tournament was hosted by Sudan 61 years ago.

Individuals in Cameroon are advised to avoid all gatherings as a precaution as violence may flare up without warning. For schedules and further information regarding the tournament, visit the CAN website.
