Heavy rainfall has led to localized flooding on roads in Kebon Jeruk (West Jakarta) on Monday, December 3. Authorities have indicated roads near the Jakarta-Merak toll road are impassable and heavy traffic was reported in the area. Lingering transportation disruptions, including road closures, are likely in West Jakarta over the coming hours.

Flooding is common in Indonesia during the rainy season, which spans from December to March. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) indicates the rainy season is forecast to peak in January to February.

Individuals present in and around Jakarta are advised to follow all instructions as issued by local authorities and anticipate residual transportation disruptions. Remember that driving or walking through running water can be dangerous; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock an adult over.
