Amtrak will suspend train service from Saturday, December 8, through Tuesday, December 11, for much of the eastern United States south of Washington, DC. Routes running from New York to New Orleans, Miami, Chicago, and Charlotte will either be canceled or modified due to the incoming winter storm that is forecast to affect areas from New Mexico to Virginia over the weekend.
