An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Gulistan-e-Jauhar (Karachi) on Saturday, December 8, wounding six people. According to local reports, the "cracker blast" took place in the Perfume Chowk area near a Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) event. A heightened security presence is possible in the area over the coming hours.
