Train service in Auckland will be interrupted for several hours on Wednesday, December 12, due to a union meeting. Auckland Transport (AT) train service will cease from approximately 09:30 until 15:00 (local time) on Wednesday as members of the Rail and Maritime Transport Union (RMTU) hold a meeting from 11:00 to 13:00. A total of 105 trains on all lines will be affected by the work stoppage. Train cancelations are possible outside the announced hours and residual delays and crowded conditions may persist for several hours after service resumes.
RMTU workers will attend a meeting to discuss current collective bargaining efforts.
Individuals in areas serviced by Auckland Transport trains are advised to monitor developments to the situation, confirm train reservations, maintain a flexible travel itinerary, and anticipate transportation disruptions, residual delays, and crowded conditions on trains, stations, and other modes of transportation during the affected hours.
