Argentina’s Ministry of Labor announced on Wednesday, December 12, that unionized airline pilots agreed to postpone a planned 48-hour strike – previously set to occur on December 13-14 – to allow for negotiations. According to Transport Minister Guillermo Dietrich, the government and the APLA and UALA unions will have 15 days to hold talks and reach an agreement. It is possible that the unions will proceed with the strike if negotiations with the government fail.
Unionized pilots planned to strike on December 13-14 to protest the hiring of foreign pilots by airline companies in Argentina.
Potentially impacted travelers are advised to monitor the situation and confirm their travel reservations and itineraries in the event of further strikes.
