Security employees to hold possible strikes at Madrid-Barajas international airport (MAD) from December 21 to January 8; significant flight disruptions expected

The Alternativa trade union called for security staff at the Madrid-Barajas international airport (MAD) to hold a strike from Friday, December 21, through Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Security employees have been asked to hold work stoppages daily from 05:00 to 14:00 (local time). Should the strike persist, significant disruptions to flight operations are likely, including delays and potential cancelations. 


Individuals traveling to, from, or via MAD are advised to confirm the status of their flight prior to their departure for the airport, and contact their airline for further information.
