Buka Airport (BUA) in Bougainville region to close indefinitely from December 22; reconfirm flight schedule

The National Airport Corporation, operating Buka Airport (BUA), located on the Buka Island in the autonomous region of Bougainville announced the closure of the facility from Saturday, December 22, due to physical safety and security concerns. The airport will remain closed until further notice.


Individuals traveling from, to or via Buka Airport are advised to contact their airline for further information.
