Port workers reportedly launched a protest march in the port district of Valparaíso (Valparaíso region) as of 11:30 (local time) on Wednesday, December 19. Authorities have suspended public transportation between Plaza Sotomayor and Playa Ancha. A heightened security presence is expected in the vicinity of the demonstration. Individuals in Chile, notably in Valparaíso region, are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution and to adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
