A protest is scheduled to take place in the capital Budapest on Friday, December 21. Participants will gather at 20:00 (local time) at Kossuth Square. A counter-demonstration is set to be held by the Two-tailed Dog Party (MKKP) at 18:00 on the same day. Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected in the vicinity of the protests. Clashes between police forces and protesters cannot be ruled out.


The MKKP is a joke political party, whose aim is to entertain through political parody. Its main activities include street art graffiti and posters. 

Protests erupted in Hungary on December 12, to denounce a controversial labor law and judicial reform. Clashes occurred between protesters and security forces on December 12, 13, and 14, with police members using tear gas to disperse the crowd.


Individuals in Hungary are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution, monitor the situation, and obey instructions issued by the local authorities.
