The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast a dry and cold weather in most parts of the country for the coming days. As of Friday, December 21, the temperature in the federal capital Islamabad, should not exceed 2°C (35°F), while in Lahore (Punjab province) 4°C (39°F) are expected; 3°C (37°F) are forecast in Peshawar (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) and -1°C (30°F) in Murree (Punjab province). Fogg conditions, along with associated poor visibility conditions, are also reported, with the potential to have a significant impact on transportation services.

Fog usually occurs during the winter season in upper Sindh, central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab provinces. In the North, the months of December, January, and February usually experience cold conditions, with recurrent cold breezes, blow, and rain.
