Further demonstrations were reported in cities throughout Tunisia, and notably in the city of Kasserine, overnight on December 26-27. The demonstrations, held for the third consecutive night, were organized to denounce the death of Aberrazak Zorgui, a journalist who immolated himself in Kasserine on Monday, December 24, to protest poor economic conditions in the region. According to local sources, at least eight people linked to the demonstrations have been arrested in Kasserine as of Thursday, December 27. Further associated protests are expected in the coming days. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be anticipated in the vicinity of any demonstration.

Individuals in affected areas are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and large public gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
