City officials have implemented a series of road restrictions in central Moscow from Monday, December 31, through Thursday, January 3, as a security precaution during New Year’s celebrations. Sections of Tverskaya, Okhotny Ryad, and Mokhovaya streets will be completely closed until 18:00 (local time) on January 3. Some adjacent streets will also be closed until 21:00. Increased security measures, including additional checkpoints and spot checks, will be in place along routes to Red Square. Traffic disruptions are to be expected in central Moscow until the road restrictions are lifted.
Individuals in Moscow are advised to allow additional time to travel and obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
