Security staff at Berlin’s Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF) airports will hold a strike from 05:00 to 08:45 (local time) on Monday, January 7. Flight delays and cancelations, along with increased waiting times at airports (e.g. at check-in counters, security checkpoints, baggage drop-off/claim, etc.), are to be expected.

Context

Labor union officials have reported that the fourth round of negotiations over wage increases for its 23,000 members failed in December. According to Germany's airport authority, negotiations will resume on January 23.
