Authorities temporarily closed seven ports in Egypt due to strong winds and high waves on Sunday, January 6. Shuttered ports include Alexandria and Dekheila on the Mediterranean Sea and Ain SokhnaSuez, and three smaller ports on the Gulf of Suez. It is unclear when the ports will be reopened to shipping.
