The Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) is installing thermal scanners at airports and other ports of entry to prevent the cross-border transmission of diseases. Such devices are operational at Islamabad International Airport (ISB), Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW) in Peshawar, Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) in Lahore, and Jinnah International Airport (KHI) in Karachi. Passengers on international flights will be screened with those suspected of illnesses subject to quarantine. In addition, the NHS announced that all ports of entry will be held to a higher standard of sanitation to control the spread of disease.
Individuals traveling to Pakistan are advised to adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, take steps to avoid mosquito bites, ensure adequate traveler health insurance and accessible funds to cover health costs.
