The Argentine Workers' Union (CTA) and the Truckers' Federation have called for protests to take place every Thursday, in the capital Buenos Aires, as well as other urban centers - including Rosario, Mar del Plata, and Mendoza -, starting from Thursday, January 10. On January 10, protesters are expected to gather in front of the Congress building. A heightened security presence as well as localized traffic disruptions are likely around the vicinity of any demonstration.
Unions are denouncing recent government economic measures, including nationwide increases in the price of public services and transport.
Individuals in Buenos Aires and other urban centers are advised to anticipate localized transportation disruptions around protest sites and to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution.
