Police are responding to bomb threats reported at regional courts in Potsdam, Magdeburg, Erfurt, Wiesbaden, and Kiel, as of Friday, January 11. Search are reportedly ongoing at the premises of the different courthouses, where anonymous assailants had threatened to detonate explosive devices. In Wiesbaden, a suspicious package was discovered at the courthouse, prompting the evacuation of the building; police have also blocked roads in the surrounding area. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected around the sites over the coming hours. Details are still emerging. Similar bomb threats were reported in recent weeks, most of them being unfounded.
The threats were reportedly sent by email and vowed attacks across Germany.
Individuals present in affected areas are advised to stay clear from the abovementioned courthouses, and report any suspicious activity to local police forces.
