On Wednesday, January 16, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) workers' union called off a nine-day strike taking place in Maharashtra state, following successful negotiations regarding the implementation of an interim pay-hike. As such, normal transportation operations are expected to resume in the coming hours, notably in the state capital Mumbai. Residuals disruptions cannot be ruled out.


Around 32,000 BEST employees were on strike since January 8, leading to significant transportation disruptions, notably in Mumbai.
