Transportation disruptions January 17 due to storm; confirm reservations

Transportation disruptions are expected nationwide as of Thursday, January 17, due to a snow storm. Air traffic operations, notably at Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport (HEL) should be impacted; the state-owned Finnair airline has already canceled scores of flights as of 09:00 (local time). Railway disruptions are also likely; the national railway operator, VR, along with the Helsinki Region Transport (HRT) regional railway operator, announced some delays and cancelations. Road transportation disruptions are also possible throughout the day, notably in the Helsinki region. Lingering disruptions are possible in the coming days.
