The Indigenous Peoples March will take place in Washington, DC, January 18; heightened security presence and transportation disruptions expected

The Indigenous Peoples March is set to be held in Washington, DC, on Friday, January 18, in support of indigenous peoples and other issues. A gathering is planned at the Department of Interior building at 08:00 (local time), and will be followed by a march down C Street NW, 18th Street NW, and Constitution Avenue NW, to the Lincoln Memorial, for a rally from 10:00. A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected. 


The first edition of the Indigenous Peoples March is being called to highlight perceived unfair treatment of indigenous peoples and other issues, including voter suppression and human trafficking. The demonstration will coincide with the March for Life, which is also set to take place on the National Mall.
