Women rights groups are planning to protest in Guayaquil and Quito (Guayas province) on Monday, January 21, to protest against a recent gang rape of a local woman in the capital Quito. Protests will be held at Plaza San Francisco, in Guayaquil at 17:00 (local time); in Quito, protesters are expected to march from the Tribuna de Los Shyris to the Prosecutor's office. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are possible in the vicinity of the demonstration.
