A protest organised by the group « Un Solo Uruguay », mostly made of farmers is set to take place in the central city of Durazno on Tuesday, January 23. Protesters are expected to gather at 16:00 (local time) at the Sociedad Rural de Durazno. A heightened security presence, along with associated traffic disruptions are possible in the vicinity of the protest. Scuffles between protesters and the police cannot be ruled out.

The farmers are denouncing what they see as the government's mismanagement of the economy, security, and education sector.
