Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) inter-terminal train closes until late 2019 for repairs; anticipate longer transit times between terminals

TIMEFRAME expected from 1/24/2019, 12:00 AM until 2/14/2019, 11:59 PM (America/Chicago). COUNTRY/REGION Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD)

Airport authorities at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) closed the inter-terminal train, known Airport Transit System (ATS), in January to allow for repair work. The transit system will undergo modernization, track repairs, and allow for updates to accommodate a new fleet of cars. Authorities have implemented replacement bus routes to facilitate travel between terminals and parking lots. The ATS modernization project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.

Travelers are advised to monitor developments to the situation and anticipate longer transit times between terminals.
