Egypt is expected to open its new Sphinx International Airport (SPX) in early February, with 30 trial flights being organized before regular service is introduced. The airport has been built west of Cairo, outside of the city near the Giza Pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum to ease tourism access to the area. Travel and flight disruptions are possible at the airport as it gradually opens to full service.


Individuals scheduled to fly through the Sphinx International Airport are advised to monitor the airport's development, confirm the status of their flights, and anticipate possible flight disruptions.
