At least two people were killed by an angry mob in Bon Repos district in Port-au-Prince on Wednesday, January 30. Local reports indicate the two men were accused of killing a taxi driver and were forcibly removed from the local police station by the mob. A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected in the affected areas over the coming hours.


Individuals in affected area are advised to keep abreast of the situation, avoid all gatherings due to the likelihood of violence, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments (e.g. travel restrictions).
