The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) will hold a rally in the capital Ankara on Thursday, January 31. The rally is being held to declare the elections manifesto ahead of the March 31 mayoral elections and present the party's candidates. At least 40,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will be held at the Ankara Sports Arena. Heightened security measures, localized traffic disruptions, and crowded conditions are expected in the area. Associated opposition protests are also possible.
Individuals in Ankara are advised to follow all instructions issued by local authorities, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and allow for extra time to reach their destinations.
