Protests break out in Nabeul province on February 1; significant transportation disruptions reported

Protests broke out in the El-Marji area of Nabeul province on Friday, February 1, to demand the completion of stalled infrastructure projects in the area. According to local sources, protesters blocked the Soliman-Korbous road, leading to significant transportation disruptions in the area. Further associated protests are possible in the coming days. A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected near any demonstrations. Clashes between demonstrators and security forces cannot be ruled out.
