A suspected improvised explosive device (IED) killed one person at a shopping center in Albuquerque (New Mexico) on Monday afternoon (local time), February 4. According to police, the device caused a "substantial" explosion in the parking lot of the center, located at the intersection of Coors Boulevard NW and Central Avenue SW on the city's west side. A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions can be expected in the area over the coming days.
