Bangalore’s airport (BLR) to partially suspend operations from February 14-24 during Aero India show scheduled February 20-24; flight disruptions likely

Event

Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) of Bangalore (Karnakata state) will partially suspend operations from Thursday, February 14, to Sunday, February 24, for the Aero India 2019 airshow. The airshow is scheduled to be held at the Yelahanka Air Force Station from Wednesday, February 20, to February 24. BLR will be closed temporarily to allow for rehearsals before the airshow begins. Flight disruptions, including cancelations and delays, are expected during this period. Crowded conditions are also expected at BLR during the airshow and officials are recommending passengers use alternate routes to avoid congestion. 

BLR will be closed from 13:30 to 16:30 (local time) from February 14 to Sunday, February 17; from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 on Monday, February 18, and Tuesday, February 19; from 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 on Wednesday, February 20; and 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 from Thursday, February 21, to February 24.

Individuals traveling to or from BLR are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate flight cancelations, crowded conditions, and traffic congestion.
