The alerts are expected to remain in effect through Monday, February 11. While orange alerts cover most of the abovementioned states, red alerts have been issued for the districts of Emmendingen, Lörrach, Schwarzbald-Baar, Hochschwarzwald/Freiburg, Freunenstadt, and Waldshut (Baden-Württemberg), as well as in Harz/Bergland district (Saxony-Anhalt). Winds of 100 km/h (60 mph) are expected along with localized gusts of up to 130 km/h (80 mph). Related transportation disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are possible.
