The People's Democratic Party (PDP), led by presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, is planning to hold a campaign rally at the Tafawa Balewa Square, in Lagos, on Tuesday, February 12, starting at 12:00 (local time). A heightened security presence is to be expected near the rally. Significant transportation disruptions are also likely, notably around the residential areas of Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki Phase 1. Clashes between rally participants, opposition supporters, and security forces cannot be ruled out.

The presidential election in Nigeria is set to take place on February 16. The main presidential contenders are incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Individuals in Lagos are advised to monitor the situation and avoid all demonstrations and large public gatherings due to the risk of violence.
