Airport officials suspended flight operations at Rome's Ciampino G. B. Pastine International Airport (CIA) on Tuesday morning (local time), February 19, due to fire at one of the airport's terminals. Passengers have also been evacuated from the terminal. According to airport officials, the airport will remain closed until further notice. Significant flight disruptions (delays and cancelations) are to be expected at CIA in the coming hours.
Individuals at or traveling via CIA are advised to confirm the status of their flights, to allow for extra time to reach their gates, and contact their airlines for further details.
