The Organisation démocratique du travail (ODT), the Fédération démocratique du travail (FDT), and the Union générale des travailleurs du Maroc (UGMT) labor unions have called for public sector workers to hold a nationwide general strike on Wednesday, February 20, to demand higher wages. Associated protests are to be expected at popular gathering points and outside government offices throughout Morocco, notably in the capital, Rabat. The work stoppage is expected to impact education, health, and government services and result in public transportation disruptions.


Individuals in Morocco are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution and allow for extra time to reach their destinations.
