The 2019 FESPACO film festival will be held in Ouagadougou from Saturday, February 23, through Saturday, March 2. The opening of the festival is scheduled to take place at Ouagadou's Municipal Stadium on February 23, while associated events will be held in venues throughout the city. According to the organizers, some 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival. A heightened security presence, associated transportation disruptions, and crowded conditions are to be anticipated in Ouagadougou over the coming days.
