Customs officials announced on Friday, March 8, that officers will continue to strike at Paris airports through the weekend. Union representatives said that significant disruptions should be expected at airports on Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10. Associated disruptions are also possible at other airports throughout France.

French customs officers launched a strike on March 8, causing significant disruptions on transportation services to the UK at the cross-channel ferries, the channel tunnel, and Eurostar. Thousands of trucks were also delayed at the ports of Calais and Dunkirk, at Gare du Nord in Paris, as well as on the A16 highway. The strike was launched to highlight the need for additional staff and a higher budget, as well as a salary raise, ahead of Brexit.

Potentially impacted travelers are advised to monitor the situation and confirm flight reservations before leaving for the airport.
