A suspected Under Vehicle Improvised Explosive Device (UVIED) detonated at Shaqaalaha junction in Mogadishu on the morning (local time) of Thursday, March 14. According to local sources, the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, Ali Bile, was targeted but survived. It is unclear if there are any casualties from the blast. Details are still emerging.
