The Affirmative Repositioning Movement (AR) and its supporters are protesting in the capital Windhoek as of Monday, March 18, over land and housing issues. Protesters marched from the Katutura Magistrate's Court to the City of Windhoek Headquarters, leading to significant transportation disruptions, notably on the Independence Avenue. A heightened security presence is reported; clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out. Further such protests are possible in the near term.
