The South African public utility company Eskom imposed further rotational load-shedding measures on its national grid, which will result in power cuts until at least 23:00 (local time) on Thursday, March 21, due to a shortage of capacity. Widespread power outages are expected throughout the day. Updated information concerning load shedding schedules is available here. Further power cuts are possible in the coming days and weeks.

Individuals in South Africa are advised to keep battery-operated devices fully charged whenever possible. In addition, individuals are advised to be cautious when driving or crossing streets if traffic signals are not functioning.
