An explosion occurred at a chemical plant in Yancheng (Jiangsu province) on Thursday, March 21. The blast took place around 14:50 (local time), killing at least 44 people and seriously injuring another 90 in the area. Recovery efforts are ongoing as of Friday, March 22, and officials have evacuated around 1000 nearby residents as a precaution. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.


Individuals in Yancheng are advised to avoid the blast area and obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
